Overview
Nine Below seeks an energetic, charismatic Course Coach/Bartender to serve customers and act as Course Coach for public and private Maker’s Golf rounds. Qualified candidates should have experience in a restaurant or bar setting, be quick on their feet with good problem-solving skills, understand quality customer service, be able to multi-task, enjoy working as a member of a team, and have experience with public speaking engagements.
Business Description
Nine Below offers an innovative team-based twist on indoor miniature golf. Customers make advance reservations in groups of 2-6 for a specific 2-hour “tee time”. Upon arrival, they are assigned to a 140-square foot plot of green. During the first 45 minutes of their round of play, customers create their own mini-golf hole using trap doors and unique obstacles. During the last hour of their round of play, they will play a full 9-hole course of the hole they created, plus the eight other holes designed by the other teams in their round. Every visit to Nine Below’s underground course is as different as the personalities of golfers who build it.

Bartender
Bartenders are responsible for serving/mixing drinks, helping manage bar functions and bar inventory, keeping the bar and venue organized, assisting with setup and cleanup, and helping customers with all aspects of their Nine Below experience.
Specific job tasks include:
Course Coach
Course Coaches are responsible for managing the two-hour rounds of Maker’s Golf. They work to ensure that customers are enjoying their experience at Nine Below, and assist customer teams in building their own mini-golf holes.

Time Commitment
Bartenders are expected to work 10-20 hours per week. Additional hours may be available.
Compensation
$2.33 - $4.00/hr + Tips. Range based on experience. A comprehensive benefits package is available for qualified employees working at least 30 hours per week.

Job Description
Bartender
Bartenders are responsible for serving/mixing drinks, helping manage bar functions and bar inventory, keeping the bar and venue organized, assisting with setup and cleanup, and helping customers with all aspects of their Nine Below experience.
Specific job tasks include:
- Maintain a clean, safe, and fully stocked bar.
- Maintain knowledge of all beer, wine and spirit offerings.
- Serve beverages/snacks to customers who place orders at the bar, as well as from their green.
- Serve beverages to customers from a mobile beverage cart.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures during each shift.
- Perform bussing tasks such as stocking, trash, recycling, dishes, cleanup, etc.
- Collect payment/create tabs on a POS system.
- Maintain open communication with other bartenders and supervisors.
- Assist customers in any aspect of their Nine Below experience.
Course Coach
Course Coaches are responsible for managing the two-hour rounds of Maker’s Golf. They work to ensure that customers are enjoying their experience at Nine Below, and assist customer teams in building their own mini-golf holes.
Specific job tasks include:
- Act as master of ceremonies and make announcements over the microphone
- Instruct customers as to how to use the equipment during the building process
- Develop personal relationships with customers
- Break down and set up additional mini-golf holes as needed
- Promote drinks and specials
- Perform drink checks and deliver drinks/snacks as needed
- Provide course rules to customers, and enforce course rules as needed
Time Commitment
Bartenders are expected to work 10-20 hours per week. Additional hours may be available.
Compensation

Application Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to work at least one weekday evening shift per week (Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday) and one Saturday shift per week (daytime or evening). Open availability on Saturdays is required for scheduling purposes. Additional weekday and Sunday availability is preferred.
- Must be willing to complete an online Responsible Beverage Server Course and submit proof of completion.
- Must be able to move up and down stairs frequently.
- Must be able to hold and speak clearly into a microphone.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Restaurant server/bartender experience preferred
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong customer service acumen
- Ability to operate a point of sale system, make change, and accurately conduct credit card/cash transactions
- Strong oral communication and public speaking skills
- Charismatic and articulate self-starter
- Team player with an understanding of customer service, a positive attitude, and high energy
- Ability to adapt style and approach to the unique needs of each group of customers
